TTF: 21st Feb (with a bit of Lent thrown in)

1. Breaking some news that I thought would get me into trouble. It didn’t 🙂

2. One of those odd moments when red lights elsewhere all sync up and the roads around Torry were quiet despite it being rush hour. I could hear birdsong and everything!

3. Enjoying my last few mouthfuls of chocolate before the start of Lent. On the subject of yielding not to temptation…..my Lent sacrifices…

Chocolate. Chocolate bars, chocolate cakes, chocolate mousse. Hot chocolate (the beverage, not the band) is off the list, as are chocolate spread and chocolate chip cookies.

Sweets. Anything you would typically get from the corner shop – Fruit Gums, jelly babies, Skittles. This means no splurging at the Guide tuck shop on Friday night.

Cigarettes. I’ve fallen down the slippery slope of smoking and it’s time to knock it on the head. This will be tricky as the lovely Geoff is a smoker. This will also be tough when I’ve had a drink or two, since I think having a fag is the best idea EVAH at that point.

What I won’t be giving up…

Tea. It’s not just for me, it’s about public safety. I drink tea to save lives. Anyone who has seen me when deprived of a brew will testify to that.

Non chocolate biscuits and cakes will still be allowed, as will pudding in the event of funcy meals. However these will be as treats and not all the freaking time, Pettis.

  1. I used to love how quiet Torry was on a Sunday morning…

Is it appropriate to wish luck for Lent? I’m not sure. Anyway, you know, go you and your chocolatelessness!
