A tattoo tale

Shiny new ink, achieved this week. When I unveiled it to my friends via the medium of twitter, Kirsty remarked that I really was a hopeless romantic. While that is certainly true, that’s not quite what I mean here. My textual reference is 1st Corinthians, chapter 13, probably known to most of you as ‘the wedding reading’. It describes what love is, what it isn’t and the pointlessness of undertaking anything without love in your heart.

For me it’s not just about romantic love. That can – and does – fail. It’s about love for your fellow man, kindness, humility, patience, grace. If we just loved one another a little bit more, think how different things could be? I know I’m a hippy and the more cynical among you will dismiss me as such. It’s what I believe though. That kind of love never fails.
